A one day workshop on the Dolby Atmos Surround System was conducted by award winning Sound Engineer Hareendranath Dwarak Warrier for the 2nd Year Direction / Cinematography and 1st year Editing & Sound students on 28th January 2016 in preparation for their Diploma Films.
Prolific Sound Recordist Elango who has worked on several films that featured in MIFF and Indian Panorama at IFFI, conducted a 3 days workshop on Live Sound Recording and demonstrated sound recording skills for the 1st Year Editing & Sound Design students on 27th, 29th and 30th January 2016.
The first batch of Weekend Courses on Digital Filmmaking started on 29th August 2015 with 10 participants and the 2nd batch started on 24th October 2015 with 11 participants.
On the 10th Year Anniversary of L.V.Prasad Film & TV Academy, Mr.S.S.Rajamouli was the Chief Guest at the Convocation Day which was held on 22nd August 2015 at Prasad Film Labs Preview Theater, Chennai. Mr.Gautham Vasudev Menon was the Guest of Honor at this function.
The Second Weekend Course in Digital Film Making at L.V.Prasad Film & TV Academy, Thiruvananthapuram concluded on a high note on 17th August 2015. Screening of his film ‘Darkness on a full moon day’ and ‘within you, without you’ was followed by lively discussions on characterization, screenplay, visualization, creative decisions and narrative layers.

Poornima Vijayakumar, National Award winning costume designer of ‘Pardesi’, delivered a guest lecture on challenges of costume designing for period films on 27th March, 2015. She answered student queries on the research that goes into costume designing for films, the issues that crop up during shoot and management strategies for the same.
